CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION TO DEVELOP A CONCEPT FOR THE TATAR KAMALA THEATRE EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 22

Due to the strong interest of potential Russian and foreign participants in the Open International Competition for development of an architectural concept of the Galiasgar Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre, the decision was made to extend the application period until September 22.


Both Russian and foreign companies can participate in the competition. Applicants can cooperate as Consortia.


Work with finalists will be performed both in person and remotely. In October, there will be online seminars introducing participants to the area and immersing them in the urban and cultural context of the territory. The workshops will be held by leading industry experts. The finalists will see the Kamala Theatre’s best performances translated into Russian and English, and become acquainted with the theater company. Foreign participants will be able to visit Kazan in person during the orientation seminar in November, and they will be provided with the necessary visa support and assistance.


An international jury headed by the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, will select 7 finalists who will develop competition proposals.


The Winner will be the creator of the best proposal as chosen by a vote of the competition Jury. Based on the results of the Jury meeting, the Winner and two finalists will receive the following additional payments:


• The Winner’s reward is 2,500,000 rubles

• The reward for 2nd place is 1,500,000 rubles

• The reward for 3rd place is 1,000,000 rubles


Foreign participants will be able to visit Kazan in person during the orientation seminar and will be provided with the necessary visa support and assistance.
